Why can’t I record my screen on macOS?

If you can’t start a desktop recording with Screenity on your Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
  1. Click on Security & Privacy.
  1. Scroll down and select Screen Recording.
  1. Make sure Google Chrome (or the browser you’re using Screenity with) is switched on.
  1. You might need to enter your password or use Touch ID to save the changes.
  1. Reopen your browser, and try recording with Screenity again.
