Making your first recording

Complete guide to making your first screen recording with Screenity. Set up camera, microphone, and start recording.

Once you’ve installed the Screenity extension and set it up, you are ready to start recording your first video!

Setting up your recording

  1. Click on the Screenity icon on the address bar to open up the recording popup.
  2. If this is your first time opening Screenity, you might be prompted with camera and microphone permissions. Click Allow to give Screenity permission to record your microphone and camera.
  3. Choose what you want to record: Screen, Tab Area, or your camera.
  4. If you’d like to show your camera in your recording, select your device on the camera dropdown.
    • Once it’s enabled, you will be able to flip the camera, and enable custom camera backgrounds.
  5. Set the microphone through the dropdown below.
    • If you want, you can enable Push to Talk to only record the while the Alt+Shift+U keys are pressed (Option+Shift+U in Mac).

Note: âť“ You can check if your microphone is picking up sound by looking at the green audio waveform.

  1. You can set any additional settings by clicking on Show more options.
  2. Click the Start recording button to start making your video
  3. You might be prompted with permission to record. Accept, and your recording will begin! ✨

Note: When Screenity is recording, you will see a red circle on the address bar. You can click on it to stop, or use the controls in the toolbar.
